68-72 standard automatic shifter lever and ball

Very nice driver quality shifter lever. No cracks and the chrome is still very nice for a driver or even a survivor car. Would work for most show cars also but it is not mint. I think there is a difference between the pin the cable hooks to from 68-70 and 71-72. I am not sure how to tell them apart but I think this is 71-72? 396724 is cast into the handle.
$55 and shipping.

Just for comparison here is a '70 shifter with the neutral safety switch & a '71 or '72 shifter that had the switch on the column. The pin is longer on the '71 shifter & the U shaped groove for the cable is sideways. The pin is 1 1/2" on the '71 shifter & 1 3/16" on the '70.

The sweet part is you can just knock them out, and switch if needed.

Very interesting, besides the neutral safety switch, never knew of the other differences in the standard automatic floor shifters. Learn something new every day. Thanks for the information.

Another tidbit I did not know, thanks Brett. Amazing the number of small changes from year to year, especially when they are not noticeable or are evident, but you did not realize it after all these years.
