15" SSII w/bolt-on caps for sale

For Sale: 1 pair (2) 15x7 JJ SSII Rally Wheels for bolt-on center caps.
I bought them from another member here for my '72 resto-mod build but they won't fit over 12" brake rotors. They are very clean and straight, but have small holes in the bead area, presumably for running drag slicks w/bead locks. The holes won't affect tire sealing and will be completely covered by the trim ring.

I've got $190 in them, and would just like to get back what I spent.
I'm in Houston, TX shipping should be about $25 a wheel. I still have the boxes used to ship them to me.

Edit: SOLD 11/24/14

I kinda need the cash to buy quarter panels for my car, but what do you have to trade? I need a convertible back seat, and OAI hood lock mounts, quarter panel skins, cut-out rear bumper (not repro'ed) small buckle seat belts.

The holes are not from bead locks they are likely from rim screws. With the trim rings on you will not see the holes.

Bump for a good sale item. Good luck.

I had to look up rim screws. First time I've heard of that. So does this mean the wheels were used for drags?

Oldsmobiledave:
What the hell are rim screws and how are they different from bead locks? I don't know much about drag racing so pardon my inexperience. I was thinking of plug welding them just to get rid of them, but it seemed pretty clear that they would not interfere with the tire bead and like you said, they won't be visible with trim rings installed.

Thanks,
Rodney

A high torque engine will hit a tire hard. So much so that a sticky drag tire will actually spin on the rim. Rim screws are used to affix the tire to the rim so that the tire does not spin. Screws need to be used on both sides of the rim to be effective. This is done with slicks when using tubes.

Thanks for the education - I didn't know that! How are the rim screws different from bead locks?

The bead lock wheel utilizes a ring that clamps the bead of the tire firmly in place. Its use came about from the circle track arena where high cornering speeds will force the tire off of the bead of the wheel. Rim screws are self explanatory.

cdrod - Those are rare and very desirable one year only rims. Most people would want them to upgrade from 14's for their show cars or nice weekend cruisers. Without the holes, you would have sold them 100 times over. Unfortunately with the holes drilled in them it would be time consuming and expensive to have them repaired to look like they were never drilled. Like I said they are very desirable rims. Someone will want them. Keep trying.

oldsmobiledave - I'm a drag racer and I never knew the difference between bead locks and rim screws. I learned something today.
