Thanks for the offer but I'm just interested in selling them. I'm trying to sell off some of what I have left over from a few restoration projects. Offers are always welcome.

This may be a dumb question, but will these be suitable for my 68 400...without a lot of mods?

Yes sir, the '68 and '69 G400's differ only in the casting date and exact VIN stamp.
They are essentially all the same enigne. Pistons may be low or high compression, cams vary, intakes vary, but the block, crank, rods, piston sets are all the same.

As already mentioned, they will work with your motor if your block would be bored .040 over the stock bore size. They are the same compression ratio as stock which is either 10.25 or 10.5.

Brian

They are only the same compression if you use the stock OEM 0.017" head gaskets which no one makes. You will need to factor in the thickness of the gasket used when calculating your final compression ratio with these pistons.

Bump for a good set of pistons at a very fair price. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks for the clarification. I was referring more towards how the pistons are listed in the parts book but I understand how that can also be misleading based on the other factors. Having a thicker head gasket to knock the compression down a little for street use would probably be a good thing unless someone was building for power.

Hopefully someone can use them.

Anyone know if an .040 bore on a '68 400 is risky (is there enough material in cylinder?)
These might be a good solution for the 400 I have with a rusty cylinder from blown head gasket decades ago.

.040 overbore on your 400 is not an issue at all. I had a 69 400 bored .040 (where these came from) and the shop didn't have the slightest concern. I believe I have seen .060 pistons offered for these motors.

pffft

I think the walls are so thick on the puny bore G400 that a 0.400 overbore is possible
