Tom, I just sent you a PM but I'm curious if the carb is specific to a certain engine. I've got a '73 Custom Cruiser and I assume it's the metering rods that make the carb specific to the engine. Can you confirm this.

I can not confirm anything. I actually learned it was a 1973 carb and slightly better than the earlier versions. We would have to ask the experts here for more information on this carb. Thanks

You'll be looking for the 7043251 carb. That's the setup for ALL AT 455's in 73. If it was for a 350 it would be a 7043250.

You're fairly correct in your thinking. The only difference in the two is the 7043250 has .069 jets and the sec rods are .077. The 7043251 jets are .070 and sec rods are .057. Both carbs can be modified to suit your application.

Looks like it's missing the anti dieseling solenoid.

That's fantastic information. I went ahead and purchased the carb. When I do the rebuild I'll be sure to include the proper jets and metering rods.
