More stupidity from Ebay air filter $999

Ok, this is really crazy. This is your everyday AC Delco filter - not the original square chicken wire ones. I guess he hopes to snag an incredibly stupid whale at that price.
I have 5 of these filters, so I offered to sell him my filters at half his asking price....

If he can get someone to pay that price, more power to him. I have no problem separating idiots from their money.

This guy is trolling for and idiot that will pay this stupid price. Somebody would have to be off their meds to pay this price. Maybe that is what he is hoping for.

"Vintage AC GM Air Filter A212CW 67 68 69 Camaro Chevelle Nova Corvette SS 396"

But, it's for the SS Corvette!
And the AC box has to be worth almost half that.
damn cheap at that!

I come from the other side of the street and wood rather not screw my fellow man over. I'm not saying sell for under fare market value but to screw someone that makes you a douche and worse than the person that over paid.

Since your so interested in what I'm selling, you may have noticed that the majority of parts I've bought and sold are "W30" parts....not generic air filters.
Or maybe more specific to you Mark, an nos post rear 1/4. Sounds like a deal to me if you can buy an nos rear 1/4 for the same cost as an air filter ! So I guess top dollar is all relative.

I'm sorry that I can't find an unambiguous source for this, but I'm surprised that, as an Englishman, you didn't get the quote right.

It's "Nobody ever lost a dollar by underestimating the taste of the American public."

Apparently, it may actually be a quote by the great HL Mencken, but, as I say, I can't find a definitive source.

If he can get someone to pay that for a filter, and not give free shipping?
Respect.

I paid less than $10 with shipping for a Fram Air Hog filter for my 71 98. I bought it from Rock Auto. It is the FRAM reusable filter. It works like a champ.

Fair enough Eric, but I think what I said is true all the same. Sourcing the correct origins of well known quotes is much harder than we might think.

I was just saying that the "... overfed, oversexed, and over here" (hope I don't have to give a history for that description of us Yanks) Brits don't usually miss a chance to bust the chops of their former subjects, and you completely left out the part about "the American public."
