I saw that one, looks like it's been restamped. Just look at the last 4 numbers in the parts number

I agree that item is suspect. The character fonts are certainly unusual.

I asked him what other date he had available (like his ad says many other dates available), and he wouldn't tell me what he had. he only asked what I needed (probably so he could go into the shop and stamp the one I needed). I wouldn't trust this one.

Cool Starter

Well, call me out on this comment but I've noticed on the Barrett Jackson No Reserve block that these smaller items aside from carburetor#s, distributor#s, tranny#s & OEM block# are forgiven more than judged inappropriate.

Unless you are entering a R&M style Concourse De Elegance Oldsmobile in Monterrey, CA with Wayne Carini from CT as your sponsor on Velocity Channel, I wouldn't sweat it.

I'd love to secure an OEM W30 starter too, but probably better off with a factory OEM re-stamp that's reliable and'll get the girl running over the block. IMHO

^ I agree, you can't even see the stamping when its installed. I finally broke down and put a high torque starter on my car. My car is much more fun when I can reliably start it rather then telling folks 'at least its a matching numbers starter!" as I sit there waiting for heat sink to cool off.
