An extra intake I own, decent but needs some welding

I started to post earlier but pulled it cause it was a for sale add but now that it is sold I will . Why the cracks were they poor castings or was it a over heat thing ?? Is this common ? Did they get better with time ? Is there a better date code the look for for better castings ?? Thanks

yeah i wondered that as well IIRC octania posted similar issues w cast iron intakes too ?
