Aftermarket 442 Ram Air Hood

I have a hood that was on a 1971 Vista cruiser.

It's an aftermarket fiberglass hood and I don't know what brand. It's underside is fiberglass also. There isn't metal braces. I also have the correct springs for the fiberglass hood.

The bottom side has some cracks that would need to be repaired.

Local pick up only. I don't want to deal with shipping this large part.

$350 and I'm in Plainfield, IL 60586.

Thanks.

Here are some pics. This is the way I got the hood on the car. Appears the prior owner was trying to smooth out the bottom of the hood. The cracks are at the two front bolts. looks repairable to me. The hood is super light and the top side looks nice.

$350 price reflects the condition.

If any interest let me know.

He will be sad but I will sell the hood.

If your in Peoria then your about 2 hours South West of me.

how many cracks are there? are they all the way through? and what parts of the underside are they on??

I'm confused, you said front two bolts but they don't appear to be on the front part of the hood. Are the holes with cracks the holes to mount the opening hinges to the hood??
do you have pics of just the two cracks?

Thanks

hood

From memory the cracks are in front of the front bolts. I believe they are all the way through.

It's about 3 labor hours of fiberglass work needed on this hood. I estimate cars all of the time and was a bodyman for 15 years.

Well i know i never got back to you, but I talked to my body guy and I would like to buy that hood if you still have it. I'm a little concerned and so is he about those cracks continuing to return but for the right price I'm willing to gamble. If you still have it would you be willing to sell for $300 and I could come up and get it as early as Saturday May 25th. Please let me know as early as possible. I am not trying to low ball but with fixing this hood i am looking at 700-800 minimum and there is the chance for cracks returning and more body work in the future. Thanks and sorry for the delay, hopefully you still have it. Please let me know,
Thanks,
Scott

Hood

Scott,

Too bad it took so long for your reply. I have a neighbor that wants along with the rest of front clip .I'm considering it sold to him at this point but will post if the deal falls through.

Thanks anyway for the offer but $350 is a deal for this hood.

Thanks.
