Parting out 70 cutlass s/x

Hi,
I bought a 1970 Cutlass S/X for the drivetrain.
Body is a rusty POS.
Front bumper is very nice driver cond.
very nice grills.
Rear bumper has S/X cutouts somewhat surface rust but perfectly straight..I did not clean it yet...rust may clean up very nice.
Dash cluster is KM (I have never seen that before)
Aftermarket Ram Air hood has corners missing from hood flying open
Black Buckets very nice
Console decent
other misc odds and ends.

Will post engines brackets and acessorys for sale after I do engine swap.

Looking to sell my 330/320 engine with 38,000 documented orig miles (runs perfectly never apart)as well after swap

Make offers...will post more pix tommorow after I clean everything up.
Big stuff pickup only in Boca Raton Fl 33428

I still drive this POS

You can reach up into the door and unlock it from the bottom. Taillights failed a couple yrs ago when it was eldest kid's driver, because the pc of floor to which the ground screw was connected rotted loose.

Could I please get the VIN and cowl tag info for the sx455.com registry so we can track that it existed? Thanks much.

I am interested in the bucket seats. Please try to post some detailed pics and a price shippedto zone 21152 Maryland. I would recommend getting a shipping quote so you don't cut yourself short---probably a little "salty" to ship those seats.

Dave,
You may know this & others also, but Greyhound bus lines is "reasonable" to ship seats. You fold them forward, wrap them in cardboard & take them to your nearest bus terminal & they put them in the lower part of the bus where the luggage is & unload them at the station nearest to your customer. Then the customer picks them up there. Last time I shipped a pair it was like $60.00-$70.00 per seat?? Not cheap, but maybe somewhere in the ball park I would think.

PLEASE also take photos of the SX emblems area, with a scale or ruler showing location relative to Cutlass emblem, fender edge, etc. Hi-Res photos would be nice. I will be glad to help archive such information, and wildaboutcars.com probably will also. One of the common errors in faking an SX is incorrectly placed "SX" emblems.

Weird, it had bucket seats & apparently a column shift? I know they made cars that way so apparently someone added the console along the way? If so, it probably still has the regular lower heat vent. That one would have several rectangular holes across the front of it. If it was a console car from the factory, or if someone who really knew these cars made the conversion, it may have a different vent. It would have the center portion blocked off & only a few holes in it? This is the part right in front of the front end of the console.

All this being said, I'd be interested in the speedo but I'm confused as to if you won't ship only the big stuff, or you won't ship any parts at all. Pm me with a price shipped to Indy, 46227 if you will ship it.
Thanks.
Scott

I'm sorry guys about not wanting to ship the big stuff, but I work 60 hrs a week and just figured I would give the "locals" on the board the chance for parts first before I put it on Craigslist.I just really don't have the time to drop off and package parts other then small boxes at the local Post Office.

I have gotten a lot of PM's on parts and I think I responded to everyone.
If not I'm sorry and please pm me again if you wish

The hood is aftermarket ,but quite heavy duty.the corners are missing and would need a lot of work to repair.

for those of you asking about the seat belts and steering column.
seat belt buckles are scracthed and 1 of them is rusty so the strap doesn't move.

Column and wiring seems ok (needs paint)..wiring looks good..steering wheel is junk

Many years ago I saw a 70-72 speedo on sleazebay that was 0-200 and at the time I assumed it was an original KPH speedo. Anyone else ever seen one of them?

Just an FYI, Km/hr speedo's weren't introduced by the auto giants till 1976 here in Canada. The one squirrel is selling is just an ordinary MPH speedo that has a conversion sticker over the MPH, so it's not a GM Metric speedo. The odometer still reads in miles. The metric conversion stickers were sold by GM dealers in Canada to help us 'adapt' the new speed limits posted for roadways. His 70 parts car must have had some Canadian connection to get that installed.

You probably can get a custom built 200 mph speedo built. Think I've seen them somewhere on the web too, but wasn't interested because no way my car will ever get faster than even 120.

So somewhere someone re did it with a 200mph face. Good to know if I ever see another that it wasnt something from the factory. Thanks for the info!
