Set of 14" SSII rims

I have a set of 4 14" SSII rims with the snap-on center cap. I DO NOT have the caps, rings, or trim. I will check to see if they ar 14x6 or 14x7...

These rims have been sandblasted and powdercoated a creme color, possibly Bamboo but I wouldn't guarantee. See picture.

Asking $300 for the set or best offer. Shipping would be about $25 per rim. Local pick-up available in South Louisiana, near New Orleans.

Location, location, location. The 3 biggies of sales...
Are they 14X6 or 14X7
Is the 'creme' color by any chance 'Bamboo'?

They are 14x6, stamped on the back side of the rims. I am guessing at the value. Make an offer.if interested.

Why is your screen name btrbill if you are in Louisiana?!?

Don't you think that is going to cause a lot of confusion and negativity?

Well, let's see... BTR is the airport identifier for Baton Rouge, LOUISIANA... My first name is BILL... I work in the aviation industry starting in Baton Rouge and currently live in... Get this.... LOUISIANA!

I fail to see how this could cause confusion or cause any troubles... Could you possibly elaborate?

I always thought the screen names were totally up for grabs and don't have to make sense. Bill, yours makes perfect sense to me.
Mine on the other hand was stolen from a Pirate name Allan (how fitting). Hence the 'R'rrrr Also explains why I have a "Cutlass"

I understand now. Thanks.

Just to clarify for everyone, There is a well known Oldsmobile engine builder and race car driver named Bill Travato who owns a shop called BTR performance, And runs the Oldsmobile website http://highperformanceolds.com/phpbb2/index.php

Also, http://btrperformance.com/

BTR stands for Bill Travato Racing. He also released this Olds engine book:

http://www.booksandrepairmanuals.com...=9781934709047

I was confused as to why there were 2 BTR bills.

Minor points and then I won't comment further.
BTR can stand for Bill Trovato Racing,(you spelled his name wrong), Big Time Rodeo, Branded Thunder Rocket, Bovine Turd Relaxer etc. I don't see why everyone is so fixated on BTR has to be just one thing???

I looked at the web links. Yes BTR Performance is the name of the website. And on Real Olds Power site he is listed as BTR Bill. Thats all case sensitive and has spacing between BTR and Bill. By the way (just so no one gets confused with the initials BTW) Your spelling of the BTR bill suggests an invoice from BTR Perfomance - in otherwords a BTR bill. So really what's the big deal? It means something different to everyone who sees or reads it. Our member is btrbill - all one word and not case sensitive. When I first saw the name btrbill, I thought: 'hey, here's someone who texts a lot and is making it part of their handle. Must mean 'beater' bill" So I was wrong too, just like everyone else who posted comments about his name.

We have lots of members on this site with VERY similarly spelled names (like oldzy, oldzzy, oldsy).

Richard, as you know, the forum doesn't send automatic messaging for every post to the OPs thread. Your post was 2 after the OP posted on that thread, so it likely was missed. I still don't think it's fair to suggest a member change their screen name unless it violates CO policies; which in this case, it doesn't. If I had joined and chosen my screen name to be Gearhead78,[no 's'] how would that affect you, and what would you really be able to do about it? I get your point about BTR Bill, but I don't think it's relevant to btrbill's contributions to this site. If BTR Bill wants to join this forum? No problem - his handle isn't taken.

FWIW? Your comment in the original thread about how well known BTR Bill is in the Olds community? Up till those threads were posted, I didn't know about BTR Performance. In fact, for all the threads I've visited, your reference and Joes was the first time I'd seen it commented on. I think the whole thing is getting blown out of proportion. It's hardly fair that someone should have to 'research' what name they should choose when joining a website. The site will advise them if the name is taken.

Sigmund Freud would have a field day with this.

zoooo, how long haff all ov you had ziss proplem viss identities??? Did your mama drop you on your head ven you vas born?

Easy there Allan. I think you may be the one who blew things out of proportion.

J-Chicago said he understands it now (before your long post questioning other's questioning the username in question). Gearheads made only a single mention of it. I have to say that I was also confused when I first saw the btrbill username here. My first thought was that someone intentionally took the name to be similar to Bill Trovato's screen handle. Until I read btrbill's explanation - which makes perfect sense and I, like the others here was completely satisfied that Bill form Baton Rouge had no ill intent. Case closed.

Yeah, good points. Back to the original thread. I notified a friend to have a look at the wheels. They do look good and the price is certainly reasonable.

And to think...

Wow... All I wanted to do was sell some rims!!

Talk about thread hijack!! Oh well, no problem guys. I do remember Gearheads post, but didn't really think that much of it. I have used this screen name for over 20 years in different message boards, going all the way back to AOL and Genie!!

In any case, thanks for the chance to explain, and thanks for letting me know about the other guy.

Now back to the original post... Does someone want these rims?? Make me a decent offer and they are all yours!!
