Is this for a 455 or 350?

Should work with either 350 or 455 with quadrajet carb air cleaner base.

The plastic parts of the "flapper" assembly are the same for a 350 and 455. What changes is the foam seal....and the one in the pic is the shorter foam seal for use on a 455 (taller block so everything's closer to the hood underside).

If you need to use this piece on a 350 car you can easily purchase the repro foam seal for a 350 car (taller foam seal) and swap it out.

Mike, where did you get this from is this a "new" reproduction or an older one. Reason I ask is that I never see a yellowish foam seal like I have on the three lids I've owned. The repos are always grey, originals seem to be yellow - so I was wondering if this was an older part prooving that some GM replacement seals were in fact grey, phew that was long

My best friend bought a '69 H/O last year and this was (incorrectly) sitting on top of the correct H/O base. He immediately got the correct H/O top and, since this didn't look very old, decided to sell it (I'm just helping him out). I'm not sure about the phone pics I posted but the foam seal looks pretty Grey to me. But to answer the question, we don't have any idea how old it is. It has the "GM Restoration Part" decal on the underside.

Thanks Patton, I forgot about the block deck/seal height difference.

Hey Mike,

Do you also have the small metal lid that goes underneath this? I think when fusick and co. sells these they usually include the small lid to cover the air cleaner element. Although i could be wrong, i'm on my cell and cant check the catalog.

Thanks!

-Tony

Yes it is. I am selling it for my friend and despite a lot of interest on ebay it didn't sell. He is asking $250.00 plus the trip which is almost $200.00 less than what they're going for new. Let me know soon as I will be re-listing it.
