First generation w-27 cover for sale

This is when the reproduction covers were good and looked similar to the real ones. $150 shipped.

We just discussed these covers under the thread W27 cover, original or repro? This is used and needs clean up and one of the fins also is slightly bent but is much better quality than the $69 ebay specials. I don't think they were made in China then.

Does anyone know when they started making those covers? The reason I ask is that I have a 71-72 10-bolt W27 cover that looks to be an original, but I can't be 100% sure.I got it in the mid 1990's from another local guy who had it sitting in his garage, and he got it from a car that he parted before that.I can tell that it was bolted to a rear before, and had oil in it,but it was cleaned to the best of someone's ability. The appearance looks like what the originals looked like. The aluminum is dull & crude, not semi-shiny like the repop stuff.I'm just trying to figure out if it is a real one from 71-72,or a very early repop, which would have been the late 1980's.

If I could figure out where I stored it,I will take a picture of it.I know I had it hanging in my garage in 2010,when the two Dan's from Minnesota came & bought 2 of my cars.We were discussing it then, and they thought it was an original, but were not absolutely sure either.I know I had it after that,so it didn't walk away.I am putting it on my 71 regardless.
