1966 330 running motor 74,000 original miles

I have a 1966 Olds 330 Low Comp motor and tranny for sale. Motor was just pulled out of my car which is receiving a healthy E block with a M-22. No need for the motor but I will be keeping the brackets, pulleys, throttle mech/linkage, lift hook, mounting brackets and air cleaner. The valve covers I will include will be slightly different than the current ones but have perfect baffles and no rust. Motor was running fine and I used to drive the car to local shows and drive ins. Motor did not smoke and has been well taken care of and I can provide you with copies of service records going back several years. Motor has correct 3 Heads (engine ID W073895) and has Julian date of 356. This is a very solid motor for someone looking for a 330 for a stock restoration.

The tranny is a Jetaway (ST 300) and has the switch pitch converter which was working fine and the tranny shifted smooth with no slipping and did not leak. This entire package could be dropped right into a car and you are ready to start driving. I will also include the carb.

Price is $450.00 and I have a engine hoist here at my home in southern CT I can also have the motor delivered for $1.50 a mile with a minimum of $40.00. Max distance will be 100 miles Sorry but my delivery guy needs it to be worth his while.

Let me know if you are interested and PM me.

I am unsure of what the modification would be if any as I only deal with 1966 A bodies. I can tell that the Jetaway will bolt up to any 330-455 engines I am usure of the earlier blocks. Do a little research and get back to me.

A 1965-1990 trans will not work. 371/394 motors have part of the bellhousing integrated into the back of the block, where as the 65-90 transmissions have the bell solely on the trans case.

They make an adapter kit to put later transmissions onto those motors, but the kit is expensive. Over 1000 dollars if I remember correctly.

I just looked it up for you.

Also, as mentioned on that website, those motors seemed to have a different flex plate and starter every year, so odds of finding exactly what you need are pretty slim, Jim.

I think your looking for a slim jim trans, not a jetaway. Try the H.A.M.B. lots of 50s olds stuff there.
