Yes, before anyone brings it up .....
I am well aware that I botched up what is officially named NITE WATCH.
Oh well ... 36+ hours with no sleep tends to make one have a brain fart.
RickMan,
Nite Watch is similar to Twilight Sentinel but with less bells & whistles.
(guess you could call it Olds's predecessor to Twilight Sentinel)
Most notably .....
It does not have the ability to automatically turn on the lights - no special or unique headlamp switch - no end user adjustable timer etc etc etc.
Anywhoo, pics have been taken.

All NiteWatch does is keep the headlamps on for a predetermined time when car is shut off, ideally long enough for the driver to get to his house door and inside.
It's wired in thru the oil pressure switch to keep the lights from going wonky or out while driving. As long as it sees oil pressure, lights will remain on. When oil pressure drops to zero after shutting engine off, NiteWatch takes over and will time the headlamps out.
Good find. If it were Cutlass version some of these "that's the way I'd have ordered it!" option hounds would be falling all over themselves for it. May take a little longer to move in B/C/E car world.

Twilight Sentinel operates off an ambient light sensor mounted in the dash. The delay on TS can be set by adjusting the dash switch for max or min delay. Unlike NW, you never really have to touch your headlight controls after it's been set. Point of interest: when getting your vehicle serviced in a shop, they will turn off the TS to avoid having the lights on all the time if the key has to be left in a hot position. Remember to turn it back on when you get the car back, or you will be driving in the dark.
Up here in Canada we have DRL legislation. I don't think USA has that yet. Anyway it's not uncommon for idiots to be out driving with just 25% of their highbeams on. No other lights - tail, side or dash. Think they'd clue in huh? Nope. Apparently, you don't have to be overly bright to drive a car nowadays.....( I just know I'm opening myself up to shots on this, but it's sooo frustrating).

The oil pressure switch (sender) just has to be sending a signal to the NW. The signal stops when you shut off the engine. That's the safety that prevents accidental headlight problems. As long as the engine is running, you can lose all your oil, and the lights will still stay on.

I'd be interested but really can't go more than 150. I don't think you want it gone for that. My email is dead@mchsi.com if you would like to contact me. Regards Pat

But I don't feel it's enough for me to bite at this point.
Your email addy looks familiar.
I believe you approached me in regards to some other Olds stuff I had listed elsewhere.
However ... I accidentally deleted our correspondence, thus I was unable to respond any further.
I will follow up with a direct email to you regarding that when I have some more time.

I've had one of these NOS before as well. May be the same one as I sold it a few years ago.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure that a lot of the kit is the same as the one for the Cutlass. I think the main difference was the appearance of the switch.
Just pointing this out because, if a Cutlass guy knew that they could use parts of it to put together one for their cutlass or repair their broken one by using the control module, they may be more interested.
Do you know what parts of it are the same?

Randy, I have one of these NOS too. It's as you say. Switches for the A body were mounted down by the T44 hood lock. On B/C cars they were toggle switches on the dash. IIRC the last year you could get the Nite Watch Safety Sentinel on A body was 1970 (option U15)

Yep. I just happened to have been watching this auction for a cutlass version. The mounting bracket for the control module may be different due to the different dash but I'm pretty sure the control module and wiring could be used a for a cutlass. Of coarse, the cutlass can NOT have a rally pac.

Ok - as I was in the midst of trying to say .....
Maybe stevengerard will see this & chime in.
When I 1st listed this ...
We started chatting behind the scenes about the possibility of using this on his 70 442. Course' he would have had to track down the A-Body correct switch at the bottom of the dash. I think the topic of using a NW with the Rally Pac may have also come up somewhere in there.
Oddly, as we went back & forth for a couple of days .....
I was digging thru a box of parts & actually found the correct A-Body setup ... which I had completely FORGOTTEN I even had. It was missing a small section of the harness ... but was mostly complete I believe.
Having both setups here at the same time .....
I think I took some close up pics of both harnesses & sent them to him to compare for gits & shiggles ... since he obviously knew much more about what exactly he was looking at vs me. I can't recall the exact deal with it ... but I believe there was some differences in the harness. Some are to be expected with the different location of the switch of course'. But there may have been something else.
The control module was a no brainer ... they were the same right down to the part # I believe. The only difference between the setups was the bracket that secured it up under the dash.
So instead of this kit ... I ended up selling him the A-Body stuff I had. When I sent it out to him - I also sent him copies of the install instructions from this kit I have here.
I can't recall if those sheets combined with the A-Body info he already had ... were able to shed anymore light on any of this or not.
Hopefully he'll see this & chime in.
