'88 Indy Pace Car P.R. Packet
Hi all! I have for sale a "Media Packet" for the 1988 Olds Indy Pace Car; it's the one released by Oldsmobile's Public Relations Dept. prior to the '88 race. Complete, it contains:
> 28 pages of press releases (from history of Olds Pace cars, to details and specifications, to Chuck Yager bio - he drove it in pre-race festivities)
> 11 8x10 B&W "glossies" of the car (including features - the 1st use of "heads-up" display [?] - and modifications made to the actual Pace Car) (all on Kodak photo paper)
> 4 color slides
> an Indianapolis brochure (10 pages)
> a reprint of a "special advertising section" from a major auto magazine
> a 2-sided 8-1/2x11 ad card
> a Delco-Moraine ad sheet detailing the 3rd-gen ABS system
It's in reasonably good shape, but not perfect: some wear/fading/wrinkling of the folder itself, but all materials inside are in very good condition.
Perfect addition to your '88 Cutlass Supreme Pace Car edition.
I received it while working in the distribution department of my local newspaper in '88, which the paper received because of having a GM plant in our town. I was the only "car guy" working there and actually rescued it on it's way to the trash. I've held on to it for (probably) too long now, and am offering it for sale to someone more closely connected to these cars that would get more enjoyment or use from it.
