1966 B head 425 4bl 10.25:1

Im gonna be moving out of the garage and into a small shop in a couple weeks. So i didnt take my time tuning this one up. But i did put it on my run stand and got it fired up.

66 425, carb to pan fan to flexplate. D block, B heads, B intake (4gc/4 jet) carb, distributor, non A/C bracket setup, ps pump and alt, Underdrive pulley set with the large wp pulley. Even comes with them Purdy Yeller Wires. Use it as a core or tune it up and use it for a few years. Looks like it might smoke alittle (but that could just be the gunk buildup from sitting) If your gonna run it then its goona need a full tune up and some gaskets. The carb needs rebuilt. Looks all original and not messed with. From the stamp on the Head its a 10.25:1 365 hp engine.

$600

Here is a clip of it running

and here are a few pics.

Odd to see a 4GC/squarebore intake on a D block; I'd guess that was changed at some point. An odd switch esp., since the 4GC can be such a pain in the tuchas (if anything, I'd more expect to see a spreadbore mani/Q-jet on an A block 425). Maybe whover did that wanted it to appear stock underhood.

Not a knock, by the way, just a bit of a mystery to me. Good luck with the sale.

Yeah thats what i thought. I just assumed it was an early build. It must have been swapped a while back. I have a light that i put down the spark plug holes and it has std pistons that have the single v notch. Who knows why. But i do have a regular 4bl non egr intake i can toss in with this engine.
