Cutlass NOS clock package

Gr 9.772 Part #996039. I believe this is for 1978-1987 but feel free to correct me. Instruction page, clock and two different bezels come in the GM box. One is standard, the other with rear defogger option. Excellent NOS condition for a show quality car, untested. $200 plus shipping.

This package is correct for 1978-1979-1980 and it will fit in the other years up to 1987. The woodgrain panels look to be 100% correct for 1978, I think in 1979 and 1980 they were a veryslightly darker woodgrain pattern

Does anyone know if the wiring asm for the clock is already on Cutlass models that didn't originally come with the clock?

Good question. Some are, some aren't. The only way to tell is by removing the clock bezel and taking a look inside. My 79 Calais had one lurking behind there, my 79 Brougham did not. Anyway, it's an easy snap on issue. I have several NOS of these extra, I can sell one if you need it.

You'd need the clock jumper wire set up, it's easy to rig up, a few snaps and you're done, no wire cutting is needed. A little heads up though. These analog clocks use ALOT of juice if they are not quartz converted. I think the "digital" rolling drums aren't as bad on current as the analog clocks are out of the factory but if you car is being stored a lot I think it's probably worth getting it converted to quartz movement. Besides, give it 1 year or so, it's a safe bet the NOS factory analog movement will croak by then. Just like an Olds salesman advised me along time ago, they made these to sell, not to last.

Thanks. I might be interested in the "snap on" option. How much is one, and where do I plug in? I had the console and the glove box out, searching for the pigtail. Thanks!

I do have a couple of clock jumpers lawing around & I can make you a copy of the GM directions. It's been a while since I did this job, I know the plug is between the glove box and the heater controls somewhere. Let me know and I'll look around
