Paint on aluminum

I am thinking about painting an aluminum intake manifold with rattle can engine paint, good or bad idea? Intake is only one year old but getting funky looking. Thanks

It's done all the time... Its more about the prep. Try to make sure the surface is as clean as possible of oil and dirt.

Have the intake glass bead blasted before trying to paint it. Yeah, once you do that, it will look nearly new and you won't want to paint it.

I painted mine, just wiped it down with thinner and let it dry. I used VHT ceramic engine paint in a rattle can. Been on there 3 years with no issues.

The paint near the exhaust crossovers will likely start discoloring but other than that it should be fine.
