Removing vinyl top remnants
Hello everyone. I have removed my vinyl top from my 72
Supreme and I will be painting the roof and not reinstalling the top. I would like to do the prep myself to save some money. What is the best way to remove the remaining glue and fiberous underside of the old top that remain glued to the roof to get it ready for primer?
Thanks!
Chris

This would probably work to remove the old glue and paint:

I agree with Rustbucket, the old glue on mine was so dry and hard it sanded of quite easily. I used 80 grit on a DA sander. If it does gum up the sand paper then perhaps the lacquer thinner would be a good first step.
