Maybe bad gas??

Hey guys,
Had some weird issues tonight and hoping it might be just bad gas so wanted to see what some of you thought.

Drove my cutlass all day today with zero problems, then i put 91 octane gas from costco in the car today(which is the first time getting gas from here for this car). I then drove it for about 30 min with no problems. Went to a late night movie where the car sat for about 2 hours.

After starting it and going to drive, it wouldn't idle properly and wanted to die unless i gave it gas. I drove it home and kept the revs up at red lights to keep it from dying. The engine was definitely fully warmed up when i got home but it felt as though there was water or something in the gas.

Has anyone experienced something like this after putting gas in from somewhere different then normal? (Usually get 91 octane from esso). Or maybe i didnt let it warm up properly after it sitting for 2 hours? (Even though it still ran rough after the car had fully warmed up? )

70 cutlass with 350 rocket 3 speed auto, 400 quadrajet

The timing does sound like water in the gas.

Pull the airhorn and have a look in the float bowl - water sits in the bottom and looks like an odd slippery bubble rolling around down there.

If it is water, then adding a whole mess of alcohol (gas line antifreeze) should get it into solution so you can burn it.

Ended up being some bad gas, put a can of seafoam in and let it run for a bit, filled up at the usual spot with 91 octane and ran like new. Thanks for the info though, now i know what to look for if i suspect water in the gas.

I also got bad gas last week. It turned out to be the two large burritos I had for lunch. After a hand full of tums everything was back to normal.
