Remote mirror repair for 1966 delta88

The remote mirror of my 66 Delta88 is broken. The rod used to adjust the mirror has separated from the bezel on the door panel. If anyone knows how to re-attach these to each other and maybe a picture. The backside of the bezel seems to have 2 threaded holes where maybe something was screwed in that held the lever in place to the bezel but I'm not sure.

thanks

Actually, there is a "C" shaped clip that snaps into these two holes and holds the adjuster to the bezel. Chances are it has come loose and dropped down inside the door.

Thanks Joe...I must assume that clip is gone as the previous owner of the olds has indicated it was broken for some time now. Will have to search internet for companies that remanufacture this clip...
Thanks again.
