Financing
So how did you guys fund your projects? I can never seem to be able to save enough cash to buy a good one and I was curious if people did cash, favors, loans or what? I'm looking to add more cars to the stable

For me, slowly but surely.
The Alero took me over 5 years to build up, and it's still not 100% done. All that's left is the cam swap, but that is also when the new motor comes into play. The Delta I had an extra $1500 and I bought it. I drove it around until the motor blew up, which happened at the worst time. I shopped around for a motor, found one, bought it, then my mech at the time let me keep the car at his shop and build it there. After I was done paying for the work, he got pissed off at me and threw me out Which really sucked, it was a pretty sweet deal

Don't overspend. These days you can get financing to pay for anything (if you have decent credit). Stay within your means and wait until a good project car comes up that is reasonably priced.

I got mine because my father owed me some money and he knew I wanted his car, and he also knew the car needed a new engine so he traded it to me for his debt.

Like redog said , slowly. Actually at my job I have a personal fund, they take a small percentage of my pay and divert it to a savings account in Commerce Bank. It's about $70.00 a week or so. It builds up. That's mine for my cars ,wife-approved. Oh, as you can see, It really helps to have a great understanding wife.
