Putting New Felt Channel in the Vent Window Asm
I have the door panels off, my 67 442, pending a new door latch. I have the window channel felts that are in the vent window asm. These felt channels are for the main window. I would like to install them. The old ones look a little shabby.
My questions is:
Can I replace the channel felt without removing the Vent Window Assembly?
If not is there a step by step process somewhere for removing the vent window asm?

Felt
You can replace the window channel felt without removing the vent window but is a bit harder. Main window has to be removed completely to accomplish. I just did mine but have vent window out. Watch for felt to be engaged on both sides as you install. Could bind window going up and down. Metro Molded has bulk rolls they sell for a complete door. Not that expensive either.

I have only big cars, not A bodies, but just wanted to offer up that if you’re doing the front fuzzies, you might want to do the rears too. But I’m not sure if Cutlasses used rear fuzzies or not.
If they do, consider replacing factory rear fuzzies with 2” wide Velcro, the fuzzy side. I have a post around here somewhere if anyone’s interested.
When the windows are out, that’s also a great time lubricate door locks, replace lost anti-rattle clips, clean the door bottoms and replace broken or iffy window rollers
Just wanted to pass along a little big car trick in case it helps you guys.
