62 cutlas gas tank replaced with 70 Nova tank
I was not able to find an original gas tank for a 62 cutlass convertible so the radiator shop ended up using a new replacement tank for a 70 nova. He had to make some changes but it seems to be an acceptable replacement. I have only had the car for about a week with the new tank, but so far so good.

I should have mentioned my car did not have the original tank. When they replaced the original tank they changed the exhaust system. The tail pipe went out the side by the filler tank instead of the back of the car. He had to change the tail pipe a little.
Your right about changing it from rear fill to side fill. So he welded some type of cover to fill the rear hole and made a new hole on the side.
I don't have the sending unit hooked up yet. I can't find the wire from the fuel gauge that goes back to the tank. The sending unit may be a different number of ohms. I think it is 0 to 95 ohms.
I know very little about cars, but the guy that did the work thought it was a relatively easy fix.
