My parents owned a '75 Omega brand new. I drove it many times as a high school kid at the time. Years later it went to my older sister for her first car upon graduating college. It racked up over 175,000 miles on the 260 V-8 before the body just gave out from rust. She lived around Buffalo NY.

It was dark brown w/ cream color vinyl top and Wire hubcaps...not a bad looking ride.

I am set on using the Edelbrock heads because they are aluminum and will give my engine more power and who dosent want more power under their hood. I have a new edelbrock performer rpm camshaft installed and i will be using some speedpro flat top pistons. I had the engine honed out and cleaned and had new freeze plugs and cam bearings installed and the engine shop the owner of the shop said that the engine was in very good condition and didnt need to be bored out unless i wanted it to be so i just had him hone it out. Another reason i am dead set on using the heads from edelbrock is the reason that they have the performer rpm cam and heads and the intake all dyno matched for peak performance. I want a nice strong running engine and one that will have the power there when i smash that gas pedal. I am looking for at least 400 hp when all is said and done. Also the headers that i will be using are the hooker super comp headers. I also had my crank polished and cleaned up and the engine shop owener said that was in very good shape also. When i took the engine aprart there was nothing wrong with it, it ran fine no knocks no leaks but i just want more power is all.

Well i was going back and forth about what heads to use and i have decided to just go with the edelbrock heads. I went to the engine shop and he said it would be around 500 buck to rebuild the heads including parts and labor. So i am not going to pay that 500 now when i planned on putting aluminum heads on it later on anyways so i might as well save the money and use that 500 towards the aluminum heads. I have some pics of the engine bay im going to post. In the pics you can see that i have closed up the holes in the fire wall and have undercoated and painted.

Well, we went to move our olds (on a tow truck) to our new house and found that the freeze-out plugs had blown over the winter...so much for garage storage... He got a late 60s 350 small block (sorry to the hard-core-keep-it-original peeps) we're going to end up dropping in it once it's built. We're going to keep the numbers matching engine on the side and I suppose we'll eventually rebuild it. He (my SO) is on the lookout for what he needs to get her running now, but I doubt she'll be ready this season. I was kinda hoping.....

Any updates on the Omega. How is the engine swap/rebuild going?
