Good afternoon everyone...

I am in process of updating my Starfire to a dual reservoir master cylinder and power brake booster from a 1966 Cadillac...

The original set up has the booster with a vacuum T that goes to a reserve vacuum tank. This operates with a check valve within the line so the vacuum does not bleed out of the tank.

The question I have is this...can I just eliminate that tank? Or do I need to add a plastic vacuum T, and if so, do I need to add a second check valve?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated... I would like to know before I do any of the work.

It's nice to have the reserve tank since it gives you a couple of assisted stops if your motor should die, but its not absolutely necessary. If you have one in your car now test it with a Mityvac. If it holds vacuum its probably worth hooking it to your new booster with a tee fitting. You don't need a second check valve.

No I don't. I thought about a dual master but wound up buying a new single pot and getting my booster rebuilt.
