2 errors: AMC and Europe...

Hi forum,

being extremely happy with my 442, my wife and I decided to surrender to the "US car infection" a again and buy a 71 Javelin AMX (first registered in Austria!). Pics included below.

But the car needs it's original engine back, as now a 290 is under the hood.

So I am looking for an early 360 or 401 from AMC, preferably from Europe, due to shipping, customs and taxes.

But I am also open to reasonable offers from across the pond... :-)

Maybe, some fellow Olds members can help.

Thank you all, Alex.

The go to AMC man in the UK is Ron Blackaller. Probably the best way to contact him is via Facebook, just put up his name an specify UK and you should be able to leave a message.

Roger.

I saw a Javelin in Helsinki once. I know they sent them somewhere in Scandinavia as CKD.

Sharp looking AMX. Always liked how AMC transformed the AMX to have a back seat while retaining that racing look, and keeping a potent drivetrain. The 401 engine was definitely underrated.

The '66 442 also looks great, one of my favorite years. You must get a lot of comments since it is in such nice condition and that it is an American muscle car.

Anthony, thanks and yes, both cars are not only underrated, but rare and nearly completely unknown around here. Most people just look and stare... :-)
