trunk lock 64/98

Hello all,
I was attempting to have the glove box lock (which I didn't have a key to) and the trunk lock (which didn't match the ignition lock) re-keyed to match the doors. So it would be like a newer-ish GM vehicle- one key for the ignition and another one to work the doors, trunk and glove box. The local locksmith was able to re-do the glove box lock, but didn't attempt to disassemble the trunk lock, as they were afraid of damaging it.

I had thought about taking the ignition lock out and taking to them to see if they could do that one instead. Have the ignition and glove box re-coded to match the trunk.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this, or could point me in the direction to find parts to get the trunk properly done.

Thanks for reading.
Adam

I'm sure I've seen lock and key sets on evilbay.

i.e, ignition barrel and key/door lock and key/trunk lock and key all as one big set and keyed alike all ready to go. Might be cheaper than having a locksmith pull locks apart.

They might be at Fusiks and U.S Parts supply also.

I am not getting old, I AM OLD! That being said, I was under the impression the square/octagon key fit the doors and ignition while the round key fit the trunk and glove box?

So, if you now have a glove box key, do you not also have a trunk key?

I have a trunk key, but it does not match any of the other keys for my car. I was trying to have only 2 keys, not 3. My wife swears I have OCD because I let stuff like this bother me. She doesn't understand.
