New to Olds ownership

Hello, I'm new to this. I've just acquired a 1982 Cutlass T-Top 3.8 I was just wondering about common problems, things to look for, notable repairs, and eventually performance. I have a little bit of experience with GM cars, including a 99 Astro, 94 Roadmaster, and my brother's 1981 Caprice, which happens to have a 1976 455 Rocket and a TH400. I'm really just looking for advice on anything you think I should know about these cars.

While I don't know much about that/those year models, there are others on here that do. Welcome to the site post some pictures when you get a chance.

Welcome. The biggest problem with the 1978-1988 A/G body cars is rust in the rear frame rails. These are boxed from the factory and trap moisture. Repro rear frame rails are available.

Also, it would be a terrible shame if your brother woke up one morning and found a 3.8 V6 under the hood of his Caprice...

Welcome to the site rustrocket, great info and people here. I also do not know much about the '80's cars, but if I remember correctly '76 was last year for Olds 455.
