Welcome aboard, I'm not very knowledgeable on 69- 70 era oldsmobile's but every Chilton manual I have ever work with was totally lacking in many ares. My advice would be to get the factory service manual either the bound version (preferred) or pdf version on line . Others may disagree but that has been my experience......Lost in the fifties ...Tedd

A 1970 Chilton manual doesn't work for a 1970 Cutlass. The Chilton/Motors/Haynes manuals are a very poor substitute for a real factory Chassis Service Manual. Don't waste your time and money with a Chiltons. Get a real CSM. As I write this post, there are over a dozen original 1969 CSMs on ebay, with one as low as $5.00. Get a Fisher Body Manual while you're at it.

Yes, both work just fine if you put them on a chair so your 3-year-old can sit on them and reach the kitchen table more easily. They also both work equally well as kindling.

A Chiltons or Haynes should be ok if you just want basic information and only want to undertake simple repairs.
But if you want to get serious about doing your own maintenance and repairs then get the CSM as Ted, Joe and Jaunty recommend.
