just traded a 88 cadillac for $800 and a 64 cutlass. lovin the car but needs restored, never restored a car but no time like the present to learn.
I imagine I will be checking this forum out quite a bit for tips and ideas. Might need a tip or two on how to keep my wife from leaving me through this whole process LOL. Anyway Im glad there is a forum for all this info and look forward to driving my cutlass and turnin heads.

Welcome, how about some more pic's. Tips on wives, can't help you, but I will tell if she hates the car, you've got an uphill battle.

What are your plans for it?

I think my wife is ok with it for now but Ive not dug too deep into it yet. I need to get the body cleaned up and some rusty holes fixed. probably find a 350 or something to drop in it so I can pull the 330 and rebuild it. All the while looking for the replacement interior parts and some of the outside chrome. both Bumpers are bent up so ill have to find new ones or bend these back in shape and have re-chromed. A BUNCH of work needs done but I think shes worth it.....they will only let me post one pic at a time right now i guess

Nice car.My favorite Olds is the 64 Cutlass.I'm restoring my third one now for the wife.Where are you located?I have some parts for your car.As far as the wife is concerned, ask her opinion as you work on it and tell her that when it's done, she can drive it too(yeah right).Tell her when you're done with this one, you'll get her one of her own.

Wow you have your work cut out for you... Welcome to the site and world of lunatics, whether you become one will be determined by how long you stay and progress.
I would pull the 330 and rebuild it and put it back in there where it belongs!

Im in Terre Haute Indiana. Shes gonna help me out a little bit by covering up the old seats untill I can afford some new upholstery but as long as I keep her involved, I think she will enjoy the restoration just as much as me. If you have some parts I would deffinately be interested, but money is an issue of course. I probably wont be buying much for it untill after the first of the year. Holidays put a real damper on fun times in the garage..but Ill keep in touch

deffinately keeping the 330 in it! Id like to keep it a close to factory as as i can aside from wheels and ill probably put disc brakes all around at some point. we'll see how that goes. Ive seen some pretty sharp looking 64's. If you ask my wife, Im already a lunatic lol

yeah the 330 starts right up and drives around ok. suspension and body mounts and all that are in need of some attention, but at least i can pull it in and out of the garage when needed.

She's got some major surface rust, but a good project. My wife won't come out in the garage and play any more. She helped me a lot when we were first married, many many, many.... years ago.
