Convertible Top Mounting

Can anyone tell me how the top cylinder piston mounts to the top frame. There is a bolt, nut, two folding washers and two bushings. The bushings go into the top cylinder piston and the bolt and nut holds it to the frame. Do the folding washers go between the bolt and frame or the frame and bushings?

Hopefully the pic is attached.

The washers go between the bushings/side of rod end and the frame. The nut should be a locking nut (if not get locking nuts) and don't go crazy when you tighten it up. There will be a little play and that is fine so don't squeeze the frame tight to the washers/rod end.
