First Olds. Florida
Just picked up my first Oldsmobile this past weekend. 1963 Dynamic 88 Holiday Hardtop. I haven't pulled any numbers or build codes off of it yet. Looks fairly original with the exception of a repaint and possibly a transmission swap.

With the exception of the plant at which the car was built, the VIN won't tell you anything you can't tell just by looking at the car.
VINs in 1963 were of the form 63XYZZZZZ where 63 = the year, X = a number indicating the series, and it will be a 2 for Dynamic 88, Y = a letter indicating one of seven possible assembly plants, and ZZZZZ = a five digit serial number for this car.
So your car's VIN will start 632, then a letter indicating the plant, and then a five digit number that can't be decoded.

Not sure what the transmission is. Definitely not a turbo 400. I'm going to see if I can get some numbers off of it to figure it out tomorrow. Yes. The bumpers are painted silver.
