1972 Cutlass 442 W29 project

Well I got myself into project. I just purchased a 1972 Cutlass S with the W29 option. It's needs some work, such as passenger rear side quarter panel needs work, inside of trunk lid around latches needs some metal work.

The floors and trunk are solid, but the transmission tunnel metal was torn open more for the four speed swap by the previous pwner. I will need new metal there, because I plan to buy a floor shifter and console to put back on floor. At the end of the day the Cutty will evenutally need a paint job.

The vehicle had a Chevy 396 and Munice 4 speed, but I declined those items, and left them where they were. This car also has a 12 bolt posi 4.88 rear end. That will be too much no matter whet I throw under the hood, so I plan to utilize 3.42-3.73 gears with a SBO and 3.23 with a BBO.

I'm not sure if I want to throw a Olds 350 back it or go with a 455. Either way I wil be making plans to purchase a Olds motor and trans here hopefully in the Dec or Jan. I have to keep the wallet tight with the holidays rapidly approaching. I will be the third owner. First owner 1972-99. Second owner 1999-2012. The previous owner also sold me W-25 Hood for a great price!! We clicked so deals were made.

Here is the body tag St 72 33687LAN394991
TR 947 53 PNT
2D A51 680
The VIN advises this is a Lansing Car.

The previous owner's father was friends with the first owner. I learned he preferred the taillights and bumper for the 70 Cutlass, so do I and I will most likely leave that bumper on.

Don't know how to load photos any other way, except separating them in different post.

Looks good but that OAI hood is for a 70 according to your pic it will bolt on but wont shut properly because the 71 & 72 core supports are different. Not sure if your aware of that .
