Solo, that's funny. Please keep us updated on your progress too. Junkman005, Ive had the 67 for about 13 years, just had the M-21 rebuilt. As soon as I get around to it I need to have the exhaust system put back on and fix a few things and Im going to sell the car. I just sold my 62 88, it lasted for only 3 days!

Its not the "real" 442, a resto-mod 442. I built the car the way I wanted a 442 to be today. Have a tremendous build sheet on the car and the bad boy 455. It will fetch 18K easy for the car, VERY reasonable for a Texas 455 M-21 4speed car.

I will sell it when the tour it over. The plan it go from LA to OKC and maybe farther depending on how the kids are acting.

Wow, its been awhile, the 67 is sold and now back on this hot rod. Going to weld the seat brackets after I finish a little more wiring under the dash. Start putting in all the fluids. The rear has had enough time to settle and it sits to high ( for me )with stock Hotchkis rear springs, I ordered 2 inch drop springs today. I also ordered the inside cardboard door and qtr. panels and will have them upholstered, along with the back seat to match the Pro-Car Scat front seats. Stay tuned I will update with more pictures soon..

Hi Rob, obviously an awesome build. Did you resolve your throttle cable issue? I plan on using Lokar throttle and kick down cables on my 64 Vista with a 455, Edelbrock performer and a Quadrajet and built 200-4R.
Any issues with the throttle and kick down cables clearing your drop base air
cleaner?
Where did you get the drop base air cleaner?
Thanks for the thread and all your posts.
Ron

My particular throttle on the Q-jet needed some bending that I did not feel comfortable with so a buddy of mine that builds Pro Alcohol cars came over and "adjusted it " in about 5 minutes. I bought the drop base from Jegs, and do not having any clearance issues with the cables.

RCWJR I installed the TCI 376600 Universal TCC Lock up kit for the 200-4R trans. Pretty simple install, even I could install it!

Okay, its been over 7 years on this complete rotisserie build, and this weekend I'm going to start the 67-400E BB Olds. The 400E has not been started since 07. All the prep work has been done, I have confidence in this Olds BB. Any way I'm stoked to see what happens. In the meantime I have been all over this car double checking my handy work plus fixing electrical gremlins galore. Mixing the old with the new is an experience trust me. Anyway although very dusty, updates on a ALMOST done ( except for the interior) one of a kind 64 F-85 Olds.

Well it wont happen this weekend, I believe the stock fuel pump failed. I put 2 gallons of gas in and not getting any fuel to the carb after a lot of cranking. Ordered a new one from Super Cars Unlimted.

I started texting DC2X4DRVR-Lance and discovered DAH, I put a little over a gallon of gas in this brand new gas tank and he said ad more maybe the pickup is not catching it. So I did and after 10 years of sitting she started. Now some tuning, there's a gremlin in the electric fans-won't come on-fix that tomorrow;

Star-date 07052017,ah the Texas summer heat is upon us! Its hot in the shop even with big fans blowing. Got the electric fans to come on like there supposed to, motor runs cool. With no load stays around 165 degrees. Still have few other electrical gremlins to sort out-gas gauge, horns and brake lights. Turn signals work, tail lights work not brake lights ( new switch) could be bad. Welded the drivers seat brackets to the floor, assembled and installed the Scat Pro Car bucket seat. Come to find out I ordered 2 drivers side Pro Car seat adapters- ordered a passenger side this morning. With the seat in, first time in about 7 years shes moving under her own power! My son was in town so he helped me adjust the front bumper and tightened all the fasteners down. Kenwood head unit mounted in the glove box is working, streaming Pandora from my I phone! In place of the cigarette lighter I slightly reamed out the hole and installed a charging station for I-phones, lap tops. Next up going to charge the A/C system, put the car on a trailer and get the exhaust installed, front end alignment, order and install more interior components, get the door panels and rear seat upholstered and installed-does it ever end?

Have you checked for voltage at the brake light switch?

Thanks gear head. The plan was to build a one of a kind 64 F-85 Post that was built for safety, comfort, reliability and performance. Its been over 7 years and just about ready to get her in the street. If I can take the time off next year-Power Tour 2018 is on my bucket list.

Are you going to use factory seat belts or something more performance orientated?

Hard to believe it's been seven years since the "rust bucket" showed up at your place, your build has been well thought out, HRPT is your goal)

I installed 3 point belts from Morris Concepts, easy install, and great quality, I think Rob is using a similar style seatbelt..

The brake lights go from the fuse block to the brake switch then to directional switch and then to the lights.

In fact I was looking into the Morris Concepts 3 point too. Will get back with guys on that. Oldcutlass I used a combo brake light switch-cruise control switch under the dash. Went this route, I have a modified 2004-R trans and the cruise control part of the switch is wired to the trans and will unlock the converter if I touch the brake pedal. I used a test light last week I believe there's a orange and black wire that's connected to the brake light switch switch and it has constant 12voltson the orange wire. Maybe an easy fix just not seeing it. Yes Power Tour 2018 is finally on my bucket list.

I going to have to look into other options for a 3 point harness. 64-65's do not have any provisions in the roof panel for the shoulder harness.

On your engine smog it looks like it is closed system. How is it going to breath. Your oil fill tube is closed and driver side valve cover is too.

You must have a breather on the oil fill tube or other cover you might check it out before you drive it.

Nice, I always wanted to do the Power tour in the past, I was just never able to make it. Any plans to run the car out at COTA, it's a pretty fun track and would be cool to see something like this tearing it up out there.

Gerald, PVC is on the passenger side, few updated pictures. I filled out my punch list checking off little things one by one. Should start cooling off soon, I can get more done.
