i decided to convert the 66 to 67 solely because i like the front segmented headlamps & the 4 tail lamp design.
ps- great looking ride! youre on your way to a sweet looking 67 too..i might need help re assembling mine. its been so long since i took it apart, and ive moved houses since then too!

yeah the roadtrips are most definitely a fun time..

Montreal for a transmission
New Jersey for bumpers
Michigan for a hood

Any interest in selling your 66 parts? - hood, bumpers, tailights, headlights, etc.? - I'm considering converting a 67 to a 66!! - seems to be alot more 67's around!

How is the quality of the VFN fibreglass hood ?

great question!

the quality of the hood looks good so far, and i found out that the hood springs have to be changed when you are going with a fiberglass hood from VFN. they sell the springs for 25 bucks, and its def worth the money.

they have been making hoods since the 60's and seem like they know their stuff. my body guy says i might have a problem with flexing in the centre of the hood.

if i do, i'll add something to reinforce it.

next up is test fitting the engine & headers-
i'm waiting on a steering box to arrive. i am also searching hi & lo for a steering column...66 or 67 tilt/non tilt, floor or column shift doesnt matter to me.

does anyone have any tips?

Post some pics of the headers fitting.

I have a few columns hanging around. Let me dig them out and I'll get back to you on them.

66 and 67 are very different and not interchangable without surgery. You need a 64-66 BOP column. A Chevelle should also work but its a little different.

Awe man! I forgot you have a 66. Sorry, the columns I have are from 67.

I didn't know there was a difference between the 66 and 67 columns. Learn something new everyday

67 was the year they decided too many people were getting speared by the steering shaft in serious accidents. They made the mounts break away and the shaft collapsing in 67.
