66 F85 back yard find
Hello all. A few years ago I bought this car from the original owner after many, many years of setting. As far as I know based on the information that was told to me is this car was last registered and drove in 1971/72, and thats what the sticker on the green/yellow license plate shows. The odometer shows 33xxx miles and from what my brother and I can tell its original. Here are a bunch of pictures of the car and as for the plans my brother is doing the minimum to make it run to take it to car shows in the Southern Az desert.
Ask all the question you want and I will do my best to accommodate. It may take a day or 2 to get back because my brother and I live on opposite sides of the US and as stated above the car is with him.

My brother pulled the motor to replace all the freeze plugs, with it setting for so long the original ones rusted holes into them. The only reason we knew they were bad was because when he filled it up with water to try and get it started they started leaking

That lip on the valve cover is because the engine has an "integral" head. The intake manifold is part of the head. The engine is newer chevy 250 ci, if I remember, the integral head came out around 1975?. There was a 1 bbl version for cars & a 2bbl version for trucks. The base F85 engine for would have been a chevy produced 230 ci with separate intake & exhaust manifolds. Even though it's a chevy motor Olds painted them gold for their cars not chevy orange. That body looks nice & solid, you've got a great starting point! Wow is that dash pad toast!!

Last driven around 1972, but engine replaced in 1975 or later.
Please keep us updated.
Nice original car.
