Does anyone know where I can source the rear quarter window glass run channel? The factory looks like it has a metal backing to it, and mine is all bent up. On my front doors the replacement material was just rubber/felt and installed easily into door frame window channel.

I'm not even sure what the correct name is for the material other than "window channel run"...

Call Restoration Specialties 814-467-9842 I ordered 5V-72-WIN. That's what I used in number 11 in the attached picture. Ask for those clips I traced in red X410-WIN.

Hey TheRobski thanks! That seems to be the stuff I'm looking for. I assume, looking at my old material, that I will have to drill small holes to mount the clips into, and bend that channel to fit the curves etc. But this looks to be the right stuff.

In measuring the vertical piece, closest to the front door and in the "post", it seems to be a bit wider there. Maybe I will also order some of the channel that is 5/8" across and test to see what works the best.

What I did because I did not what I was doing I sent the vertical pieces to them and they basically rebuilt them for 420.00 a piece. #11 the C channel-I drilled out the tiny rivets and the new material is rigid but bends, I used 3-M weather strip adhesive and glued them together using small clamps and let it set up over night. As far as installing the C section into the quarter channel I had trouble getting the replacement fasteners to pop into place-the ones in the picture traced in red so I glued those in and used various clamps etc to hold them in place to set up. Not real happy with the result pass. side came loose in the corner. If you can figure out something else let me know. There's not a lot of info regarding this part of a restoration especially on a "post car"

You can always go back to a post you made and 'Edit' it if you need to change it. That little "EDIT" button on the bottom of the post will only appear for posts you have made. Makes it a lot easier. Plus you can put the reason for editing so others will know what to look for.

Coffee is a good thing. early in the morning isn't.

Wow! $420....not so good. $20.....much better! I am on coffee #2 today with 11 more hours of work to go. No time to work on the car today.

Rob I looked at your old threads on the build and all I can say is that I am impressed. Looks like you are doing a fine job. On my car it has been six years of ownership, and still she is far from running. But it's a labor of love(hate?). I am certainly not restoring my car, but building it the way I want and re-purposing and re-using what I can. I just cannot afford to buy every new repro or NOS part that is out there. So I pick and choose. In this case the window felts are original to the car and basically fell apart in my hands like some of the plastic interior trim.

I will order some items and when I find time to work on it, I'll take photos and let you know how and what I did. Thanks again, and that is one sweet ride you have!
