I apologize for not knowing that this probably has been asked a hundred times but what is best way to re-do dash stripe on my 68 442? Thanks.

Go to hobby shop and obtain twin stripe tape with correct dimensions. There is a thread on this site about that stripe with manufacturer and dimensions.

I laid down painters tape in a straight line across the bottom and sides of the dash to align it and free handed the curve. It's tough to get the curve right. It took me a few times.

My passenger headrest just brushes across the stripe when you push the seat back forward and it's torn now

3M and Plastigard makes the dual strip tape. Your local auto body supply will either have it or have the catalog to order it. Mild heat from a hair dryer will help with bending the corners. Clean the dash good with glass cleaner and a wipe that wont scratch or leave dust particles.

"The two stripes come together on one carrier...stick on car and remove carrier...called Double Stripes by Plastigard...36 feet...a division of Crilaplastic...part number PG922670...5/16 X 36' / 0.8 cm X 11 m...this has a 3/16 stripe with a 3/16 space with a 1/16 stripe..I have posted this info before for Tom? Black on green and red dashes and white on the other colors...Look for this stuff at auto body shops and hobby shops... I bought mine at Canadian tire."

I dont think page 116 of the assembly bible has the dimensions but it does have the OEM part number, likely long obsolete but 3M may be able to cross ref.

I free-handed the whole damned stripe... never thought of a guide line, duh!

I did have to put the curves on one tape at a time which tries the patience, but the final product looks worth the effort

As Mike did with his headrest, I managed to nick mine installing the Vintage Air unit.

Can anyone tell me what TR943 on cowl tag is? I know color is blue but which one? Light, medium or aqua? Also if that is a bucket or bench code. I have buckets now. Going to paint or dye some things.

Don't know what shade of blue it is (my book shows a "light blue" and "medium blue" for the '68 model year) but 943 is for bucket seats.

The only interior blues in 68 are Light Blue (the assembly manual just calls it "Blue") and Teal Blue. Legendary's catalog lists both. The blue is a pretty light color. I had a set of buckets that I parted out that were that color
