Removing rear seat back part 1964/98 4dr

Removing rear seat back part 1964/98 4dr

Can anyone tell me how to remove the back part of the rearseat ?

There should be 2 metal tabs,one on each side near the outer bottom corners of the seat back fastened (in some manner ) to the metal behind the seat back. Remove those and the bottom of the seat should pull toward you,then push up on the seat and it should come off the hooks that hold it at the top! Good luck, Larry

You have removed the seat cushion, correct? You cannot remove the seat back without removing the seat cushion first.

Seat cushion is away, and is actually very easy to remove......

Those tabs are made of rather thing metal, and bends real easy. I tried with one of them, and I got the feeling it would break, if I should do this more than once, and then I stopped.

I've took several of the seats out that had the tabs and never had one to break. The seat back will can not be removed until you get the bottom of it unfastened ! Larry
