1970 Cutlass quarter glass chrome removal

I am replacing the quarter glasses in my '70 Cutlass, what is the best way to remove the chrome strip and rubber seal from the old glass safely?
Thanks in advance, Frank

Frank, it's held by friction and thin glass tape. Just tap the back edges of the chrome sati forwards and it will pop right off. You can get the glass tape from a local glass shop when you're ready to install it again. Not a hard job.

When sliding the new rubber into the chrome channel, first lube it with some soapy water. Slides in much easier and dries out afterward with a snug fit.
