66 cutlass roof trim help needed!!
Hey guys/gals.. I have a 66 cutlass that I'm prepping for paint and I found after decodeing the id tag it is a painted top car... Aparrently it came with a painted white top and Uses the same trim as the vinyl top... (So I was informed) the problem is whoever had the car before me "removed" all the mounting pins for the trim.. All I have to go off of is small brass blobs from where the old ones were braised on...... I was wondering if anyone had some pictures of the mounting pins. And or could take some mesurements so I can make new pins and affix them as close as possible to where they came off...

They are called "trim rivets" or "trim studs". You weld them in place with a stud welder, usually used to weld studs onto sheet metal to pull out dents. In this case there is a special tip for the stud welder that accepts the head of the trim rivet. You just weld it on using the stud welder. Most welding shops and auto restoration supply vendors (Eastwood, TP Tools, USA Weld, etc) sell the welders and the trim rivets.
