Hello fellow Oldsmobile enthusiasts, I have decided I would like my clock to operate correctly, and had a couple of questions:
I have a '69 442 convertible.


First, do I pull unit out towards firewall, or out the front?
Also, does anyone have a vendor they would recommend for the clock repair?
My tach works fine, and the tach guage stencils seem Ok.

Here's a link to an old thread with photos of the backside of a 1968-69 dash where the gauge pods attach. It's been several years since I pulled one of these apart, the old thread says to pull it out the front. But you have to go in under the dash to remove the fasteners. John

You can get quartz conversions on ebay & maybe other places to convert your clock. It has to be a Borg unit, General Time clocks can't be converted. If you're mechanical enough to pull the tach/clock out of the dash, you can convert the clock. I restore instruments & convert clocks for customers if you don't want to mess with it.

The place that fixed my clocks (and tachs) is D&M Restorations, 57-B Creekside Park Court, Greenville, SC 29615, phone 800-722-0854 or 864-254-9989. Their web site is www.DandMrestoration.com/ . They did a real good job for me at what I believe are reasonable prices. They will restore you clock to original condition or they will install a quartz movement, per your instructions. As we get towards summertime, though, their turnaround time slows down. I was very satisfied with their work.
