1966 Cutlass Convertible line replacement
Before I dive into replacing the convertible tubing, does anyone have any tips or do you know of a good link on CO? I searched but didn't turn up anything.
While replacing my floor pans a few weeks ago, I noticed some oily substance under the rear seat. I assume the top is hydraulic powered.
Thanks and Merry Christmas!

It is hydraulic. The lines are plastic with brass threaded ends that go on the cylinders and to the pump. Self bleeding. I put a pan I cut out of a gallon jug under my new pump when I first filled it and ran the top up and down a few times to get the air out. Worked great!

That oily substance is brake fluid, if it is original from the 1960's. It is easy to clean up with soapy water and a towel. The one problem is that it will remove any paint that it comes in contact with, so you have to be very careful. I just answered a similar question in another thread. Make sure you note on the pump which outlet corresponds with top or bottom of lift cylinders. If you put in new hoses incorrectly you will have to push down to raise top and vise versa. Been there. It's easy to confuse.
