Sport Steering Wheel
I am building a Pro Touring 1971 Cutlass Convertible 442 Clone. I have been looking at Sport Steering Wheels and noticed that they had an Olds Omega wheel that looks about the same. They are about 14" to 14 1/2" in diameter. Has anyone tried one of these? Questions are: Is the shaft size and splines the same and will the horn cap and horn button hardware work or are they different??? Where or who has the horn cap and hardware to make the horn work???? Thanks.

Yes, the Omega wheel will interchange with the 1970-77 sport wheels. The Omega wheels is smaller as you said, it also has a different stitching pattern. But it uses the same mounting hub, horn button and all parts that the larger sport wheels use. The Omega's had different colored wheels too, whereas the earlier ones came only in black with the hub and horn button colored to match the interior.

The smaller wheel may also obstruct your view of the gages. Even the 15 1/2" one cuts off part of the view unless you have a tilt column. Other than that, I agree with everything John said and add, the 14 1/2" is a different part number than the 15 1/2". The part number is molded into the backside of the rubber on one of the spokes.
