'71 to '75 Delta 88 & 98 Power and Manual Seats Interchange Without Any Modifications

This is just a note for the archives, in case someone searches for the information in the future.

I just swapped out a power seat setup from a '73 98 into my '73 Delta 88.

If I had had everything all lined up and ready, it would have taken half an hour.
If I had had practice, it would have taken ten minutes.
As it was, it took about an hour and a half.

Everything is a total bolt-on, no modification or customization needed.

There have been threads about special floor brackets needed when installing buckets or power seats in A-bodies - None of that applies here.
Everything just lined up and went in like it was made for it.

The only thing to remember is that the 88 has seat controls on the side of the seat, while the 98 has controls on the door armrest, so the wiring and control mounting will vary if you get the setup from a 98 instead of an 88. If you've got an 88 donor, you should take the lower seat side panel, where the switch mounts. I don't care about this, as it just gives me an incentive to be creative .

At some point in the future, I'll probably post how easy it was (or wasn't) to install 98 door panels in an 88 convertible .
