Dash pad install

The dash pad on my 70 Cutlass Supreme has a 3/4" gap on the drivers side between the front of the pad and the metal dash. How can I close that gap?

Is anything damaged? Got pictures? An original dash pad should go on no problem. Be sure theres not a mounting stud jammed up just off its corresponding hole. Got pictures?

Two screws go through the plastic dash between the gauges (and behind the gauge dress plate) into the metal dash to retain the assembly up against the metal dash.
Then there's the one stud in the upper corner that just has a pinch retainer in the metal dash - no speed nut.
