rear windows off track -71 cutlass supreme convertible

So the regulator cranks seem to function correctly, with a bit of drag on the way up. The windows are no longer held by the three points/tracking discs. They are kinda jammed in there with the regulator in top position, and if you go to lower the window with the crank they just kind fall down into the body of the car. Gotta pull those little plastic vent covers and stick a hand in there and feed it back up. Is it possible to get this back together? or does one buy a new complete window+regulator system and install that? or?

The most likely cause is that one or more of the plastic rollers has broken. Replace the rollers and lube the tracks with a good silicone grease (NOT petroleum based grease - that will attach the plastic). You will need to remove the back seat and side panels to access the window tracks and rollers.
