Stock dash clock vs Aftermarket Quartz Movement

Hi. I just removed the stock dash clock from my 1970 Cutlass. A few tiny pieces were found loose inside it. The clock looks good but does not move. I assume having it repaired can be costly. One may find refurbished ones out there and also the quartz movement replica is available. I wonder, given that stock ones might not last long, would it be reasonable to opt for the quartz movement replicas vs a refurbish OEM? The former is about $165 while the latter could be about the same price but it could also be more expensive.

A quartz conversion is the best thing to do in my opinion. All my cars have been converted, at least one has been running for 15 years with no problems.

15 years is impressive. Did the others go bad?
