Auto interior shops on Long Island

Hi,
Does anyone know of any other Auto interior shops on Long Island, NY than AutoMat that they can recommend? I was quoted between five and six thousand to redo my complete interior with original fabric and patterns.

Joe

Options:

AutoMat is known to be very expensive -- then again, Long Island is so very expensive that the shops here have to cover their overhead of Long Island real estate and taxes.....which "ain't" cheap!!!!!!!

two options: Lot of the guys in my car clubs use Phoenix Upholsters (Jim Z. -- proprietor) off Franklin Avenue in Franklin Square
&
A & B Upholsters on Merrick Road in Baldwin.....

good luck.....

I would suggest R&R Seats in Plainview.

Heard positive feedback from everyone I've spoken to about them and they certainly appreciate these cars (after receiving a recent estimate).

I will be scheduling some work with them as soon as my parts arrive...

Thanks for the replies. My Auto Body shop recommended R&R seats about six years ago to me and I had my BMW head liner done by them. This year my auto body mention A&B instead of R&R Seats but he didn't say why.

I used R&R and was happy with them, but IMO any decent shop isn't going to be cheap. Who is your body shop? i need to get some light work done.

I have been using Centerline Collision in Massapequa, NY for about 16 years. They repainted and repaired all the body rust on my 1966 in 2002. I just brought the car in again a few months ago to fix the body paint again (I was removing the front fenders and scratched the front doors pretty badly on the reinstall) and install a few external options.

Don't know how far out you are but McCoy on 49th Ave. Between 69th and 70th Streets in Woodside, Queens has always done right by me. They have been around since the 40's. Moved off Queens Blvd about 20 + years ago due to high Realestate costs. Been in the current location since.

That is good to hear. I am in Massapequa Park & will be looking for a shop to do some minor repairs before it gets out of hand. I'll check them out.

I decided to go with A&B located in Baldwin, NY. The owner Bob was very pleasant to work with. He outlined the work he will be doing and show me the material he will be using. He also let me order the fabric. It only took one week to redo the front/back seats, Headliner and carpet. I have attached the before and after photos.

When you speak to Bob.....

He used to be in my bowling league -- and he is a very good bowler -- he is
usually about a 220 average bowler.
He was in my fantasy football league, too, but he wasn't very good, there --
he dropped out because his teams were not too good!!!!!

Tell him that Craig "Stats" says "Hello" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
